It's the same pattern I spot in Viking Conquest, just smaller differences, the only actual difference I've seen from experience is: 1. Generally I recall hearing players discuss concerning the native warband module which faction is the best and it's always the "Z infantry and also X cavalry and if you want bows you use Y" when just basicly most of the factions are more or less pretty balanced, just different flavors. That's kind of what I had a shot at but you definitely nailed my thoughts.
